LDK Customized prosthesis for “post-tumor resection hemipelvic defect”

Recently, Li Haomiao, director of the Department of Bone Oncology of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Southern Medical University, completed a hemipelvic defect replacement after tumor resection with a LDK customized tumor prosthesis, and the operation went smoothly.
The patient was diagnosed with a left hip mass in 2007 and underwent “left hip tumor resection + bone grafting” in another hospital. 2010, the mass recurred and he underwent “left hip bone tumor lesion resection + bone cement filling” again, and the postoperative pathology indicated recurrence of chondroblastoma. The hospital suggested the patient to go to oncology specialist hospital for further treatment, but the patient did not pay attention to it.
In recent years, the patient felt increased pain in the left hip, and in November 2021, he was examined by an outside hospital, which indicated “left hip dislocation and ischemic necrosis of the femoral head”, accompanied by morphological and signal changes of the left pelvis and surrounding muscles, ischemic necrosis of the left femoral head and left hip dislocation, and multiple lymph nodes enlargement in the left inguinal region.
For further systematic treatment, the patient underwent “percutaneous lower limb artery embolization and transurethral ureteral stenting” and “pelvic mass resection + left hip arthroplasty + bladder repair” in August 2022, with a fair recovery.
Now, the patient has difficulty in moving again and even turning over. For pelvic reconstruction, the patient came to the Department of Bone Oncology of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Southern Medical University.
