LDK receives NMPA Clearance for OSSUP shoulder prosthesis

In December 2022, the OSSUP shoulder joint prosthesis developed by Beijing LDK Technology Co., Ltd. was approved by National Medical Products Administration. This clearance further broadens the market for LDK's artificial joints, now LDK's artificial joint product line has covered "hip, knee, shoulder and elbow" all four major joint fields, providing a comprehensive solution for the surgeons.

Shoulder arthroplasty is the first choice for the treatment of most end-stage shoulder arthritis and comminuted fractures of humerus, which can better relieve shoulder pain and rebuild the function of the shoulder joint. It shows significant effect in the treatment of shoulder osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteonecrosis and fracture in patients of all age groups.

OSSUP shoulder prosthesis features

Optimized glenohumeral joint, innovative prosthesis design, helps restore natural shoulder joint motion, rotational balance and stability. Precisely reconstructs the motion mechanics of the shoulder joint while preserving as much bone as possible. The shoulder prosthesis includes both primary and revision prostheses to better match individual patient specificity and provide clinical flexibility.

The optimized instrumentation tool makes clinical operation easier. The humeral head osteotomy guide is included to help determine a more appropriate osteotomy angle for precise alignment of the shoulder glenohumeral prosthesis, and the humeral osteotomy file prepares a precise bone surface for the humeral head prosthesis.

Product indications

Total shoulder arthroplasty is indicated for.

The main indications are pain due to lesions involving the humeral head and both sides of the articular glenoid as well as functional and motor deficits. Including.

1. osteoarthritis (including primary and secondary two types)

2. rheumatoid arthritis

3. Traumatic arthritis

4. Rotator cuff injury arthropathy

5. Revision of artificial shoulder joint

6. Other osteonecrosis, shoulder dysplasia, old infections, etc.

If the lesion is limited to the humeral head, or if the scapular glenoid cartilage is only mildly softened, only the artificial humeral head can be replaced.
