Unicondylar replacement surgery is a partial replacement of only part of the articular surface, preserving most of the articular surface and structures. The unicondylar replacement is an intra-articular surgery, which releases as little of the surrounding soft tissue as possible, especially the medial collateral ligaments, and allows the patient to have better proprioception and more natural movement after surgery.
